Despite their structural and functional differences, synthetic supramolecular assemblies share many similarities with biological assemblies, especially enzymes. The assemblies can be on the same length scale, and their structures and guest binding are typically governed by non-covalent interactions. Peak oxygen uptake cut-points to identify children at increased cardiometabolic risk - The PANIC Study.

We aimed to develop cut -points for directly measured peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak ) to identify boys and girls at increased cardiometabolic risk using different scaling methods to control for body size and composition. Altogether 352 children (186 boys, 166 girls) aged 9 – 11 years were included in the analyses. We measured VO2peak directly during a maximal cycle ergometer exercise test and lean body mass (LM) by bioelectrical impedance. En este trabajo analizamos el encuadre informativo del Daño cerebral adquirido (DCA) en noticias publicadas en El País, El Mundo y La Vanguardia entre 2010 y 2013. Partiendo de una búsqueda léxica, se seleccionaron los textos que tematizaban el DCA, bien como tema central o secundario, y se analizaron las distintas categorías de encuadre discursivo. Emotional correlates of body weight: The moderating effects of gender and family income

Abstract This study explored emotional correlates of relative body weight in a sample of 187 male and 269 female college students. The contribution of relative body weight, gender, family income and their interactions to variables related to anxiety and anger were evaluated by multiple regression procedures. Relative body weight was positively related to trait anxiety, especially among those with lower family incomes. Increased body weight was also related to trait anger and an anger-out expression style, but only among men. Right-wing populism has a long tradition in Switzerland. Nevertheless, only little is known about how populist messages in the media contribute to the success of the Swiss People’s Party (SVP) and to the acceptance of the party’s anti-immigration policies. In this study, we combine data from a large media content analysis (including newspapers and TV news shows) with data from a panel-survey in order to address this research gap. Mass media, and especially television, are powerful discursive instruments, responsible for the construction of social imagery through ideologically determined content. For this reason, the creation of a regulatory body with authority over the audiovisual sector in countries without one was urged by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in 2000. Spain is the only EU country without an audiovisual council with authority at the state level.
